I'd Be the Patron Saint of Broadway Musicals

I am in love with music and beautiful things. But not just things that are beautiful at first kind of things, things that no matter how much you look at them they are still beautiful and always will be beautiful.

In the fall I will be studying Nursing in Portland. I would like to be a pediatric nurse someday. If you have stumbled across my blog and you attend University of Portland or you plan to attend, hit up my ask box. I'd love to chat since I will be seeing you soon.

I love to sing and write. I am good at math but I hate doing it. When I hear or read a good quote I write it down. It doesn't matter where just as long as I have it for myself somewhere.

I hate bugs.

I love to read. My very favorite things to read (at the moment) are The Book Thief, Looking For Alaska, The Fault In Our Stars, To Kill a Mockingbird, Catcher in the Rye and of course, Harry Potter.

I love country music and show tunes the most. Wicked and Next to Normal have changed my life.

I watch TV (mostly Castle, Glee, Revenge and Once Upon a Time) but I love movies. My favorite is The Notebook. I have seen it many times and I still cry.

Smile. The world needs more smiles.

So pretty.

Originally I was really reluctant to go to college. I wanted to live at home and go to the university that is about five miles from my house. But then I realized that if I did that, I would never give myself the full chance to grow and about a year ago, I decided that I wanted to go out of state. Now, I’m really glad I decided to do that. It’s a complete change of scenery and so far, the people I have talked to at University of Portland seem really nice.

Of course, I’m going to miss it here. I’m going to miss my boyfriend probably more than he even knows. There are people here I’ve known all my life and I’m going to miss them. There are people here I haven’t known my whole life, though I wish to know them for the rest of my life. I wish I had more time to spend with them. I need a change of scenery though and I’m glad I’m doing it now since this is the perfect opportunity to do this. So I’m happy and I’m sad but I know it’ll be good in the end.

Not being assaulted is not a privilege to be earned through the judicious application of personal safety strategies. A woman should be able to walk down the street at 4 in the morning in nothing but her socks, blind drunk, without being assaulted, and I, for one, am not going to do anything to imply that she is in any way responsible for her own assault if she fails to Adequately Protect Herself. Men aren’t helpless dick-driven maniacs who can’t help raping a vulnerable woman. It disrespects EVERYONE.
